It’s never easy “firing” a patient. But we do a disservice to those who truly want our care if we are constantly trying to help those who need a little more time. Not everyone is ready to be helped or wants to be helped. And that is okay.

I think patients value the relationship more when they know and uphold their rights and responsibilities. Also staff must feel protected from abusive patients.
